I have been involved with all animals, especially horses, in one way or another since I was a young child. We lived in the city in Minnesota, but I kept my passion alive with movies, books, drawings and thoughts of some day having a horse.
As a teenager I moved to the country where I was finally around horses. Then came the opportunity to have my own horse and so my equine career began. I spent my teen years showing Hunter/Jumper and Fox Hunting with my Thoroughbred gelding.
As an adult I bought my first horse, a four year old purebred Arabian mare. We spent a year in training before deciding to try in the Arabian show circuit in the Western Pleasure division. We went on to show at the US Arabian Nationals a year later.

At this point my father had gotten introduced to the Arabian world by myself and my mare. He started to purchase show horses and later opened a premier facility in the Texas Hill Country called Double Diamond Ranch. Over the years we had world renowned Arabian trainers such as Michael Byatt (Halter), Jim Stachowski and Bob Battaglia (English) and Tommy Garland (Western) working at the ranch, so I had the opportunity to work with and learn from the best. I also had the good fortune to work beside our reproduction specialist, Dr. Mario Zerlotti which gave me the opportunity to fulfill my passion of breeding these beautiful animals. I later worked as operating and marketing manager for the equine division, as well as showing.
The opportunities didn’t stop there. Although I had been taking photos for many years, since my passion for photography started in high school. My real talent came out when I was taking amateur photographs next to the many professional equine photographers that came out to the ranch. I attribute a considerable amount of my knowledge of equine photography to the well known photographer, Scott Trees. Scott has been a valued friend, a teacher and a mentor to me over the years.

I began my professional career by only photographing Double Diamond horses. My photographs of our stallions, mares and foals were used in magazine ads, brochures, fliers, stallion and mare cards and more. I worked closely with our graphic designer when my talents came out in that area. I went on to develop ads for Double Diamond and then work for Double Diamond clients as well.
Double Diamond Ranch was my launching pad and I have been catapulted to the present day. The appreciation I have for the amazing world of photography and graphic design gives me the tools I need to capture the majestic beauty of these powerful animals and present them to you for all time.
Equine photography is my specialty, but I do all types of animal outdoor action and portrait photography, as well as outdoor individual and family portraits. I have images published in The Arabian Horse Times, The Horse Gazette, Addis Equine Sales Catalog feature cover, brochures and several websites.
My office is out of Double Diamond Ranch where I continue to live with my four dogs and a parrot. I continue to work with the horses every day. Living on the ranch offers me the special opportunity to utilize the facility for my photographic work. My clients are welcome to come to the ranch to be photographed with the stunning backdrop of the Texas Hill Country. Or I will travel to your location if that is preferred. Also contact me to photograph your equine event or show. My sessions are by appointment only and my rates are very reasonable.
